Wallis is a Scottish-based actress, singer and writer originally from Greystones, Ireland.
Having spent most of her childhood begging her family to sit down and watch the show she had just made up, Wallis started dance training at the Young Performers Academy in 2010.
At sweet sixteen Wallis auditioned for The All Ireland Talent Show and was amazed to find herself as a finalist. One of her performances was broadcast live to 50,000- she still hasn't stopped talking about that one!
Wanting to pursue performing arts, Wallis attended University College Dublin where she studied Music. Her time at UCD was predominantly spent in the Musical Society where she got to play roles such as Baker's Wife in Into the Woods and one of her personal favorites, getting to put a female twist on the role of Pontius Pilate in Jesus Christ Superstar.
Having the opportunity to play a role typically performed by a man sparked a new interest in musical theatre for Wallis and particularity playing with the concept of the 'norm'. In 2015, Wallis was offered a place at the Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts to study Musical Theatre and finally made the move to London, something she'd been dreaming of for a long time! At Mountview, Wallis discovered a passion for collaborative work and improvisation, as well as writing.
Since graduating, Wallis has continued to hone in on her acting skills and has been fortunate enough to work on a variety of straight plays, as well as musicals. Some of her highlights include Em in Dark Arts at the King’s Head Theatre, Deb in Ordinary Days at the Soho Theatre, Laura Dekker in Maidentrip at the Karamel Club and Anne in Anne of Green Gables at the Unicorn Theatre. Wallis loves that performing gives her the opportunity to combine two of her favourite things: raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens.
No, wait, that’s not right. That should have read- Wallis loves that performing gives her the opportunity to combine two of her favourite things: meeting new people and talking!
Towards the end of 2018, Wallis’ debut play Dirty Laundry was performed at the Tristan Bates Theatre. Met with 5* reviews, Wallis plans to continue her work on this project with the hope of taking it on tour in the near future. Her second play, Rúin, is in development.
